The ShipCompliant service provides web-based compliance technology for the wine industry. Once youʼve set up an account with ShipCompliant, Λctiv8 Manager automatically submits each transaction to the service, which checks it for compliance with the pertinent state regulations for shipping wine and related products. After the sale is charged, itʼs registered in ShipCompliantʼs database, from where you can retrieve reports on previous transactions.
Manager also provides monthly compliance reports for you and ShipCompliant.
As part of your account setup, ShipCompliant requires that you register your company brand name, and in some cases the individual products youʼll be shipping. Youʼll find this information in the Inventory record (on the General tab):
The brand must be registered exactly as it appears in the Brand Key field for each inventory item.
If required, the product key is the inventory number from the Id field.
Once youʼve set up the account, the next step is to export your inventory items.
Once the ShipCompliant account is ready, you can continue by informing the service about your inventory items and processing existing transactions.
To export inventory items:
Open the Inventory list.
In the list, select the inventory items that youʼll be selling.
From the Actions menu, choose Export Selected to ShipCompliant.
To process transactions:
Make a test transaction: in Manager, create a single retail sales order and mark it 'Paid.'
Look at the Job Log for the action. If any errors occurred, correct them and submit the transaction again.
In the Transaction list, select the test sale.
From the Actions menu, choose Compliance : Check with ShipCompliant.
If the check is successful, select the transaction again. From the Actions menu, choose Compliance : Commit to ShipCompliant.
If the test transaction is processed successfully, repeat steps 3–5 for all existing sales orders.
When a compliance error occurs for a transaction, Manager displays the details on the Compliance tab of the Transaction – Data Entry dialog.
You can choose to process a noncompliant order as is, or repair the error and resubmit the transaction.
Managerʼs integration with ShipCompliant ensures that:
To check the status of transactions youʼve sent to ShipCompliant, you can log in to the account you created on the serviceʼs web site. To understand the data reported there, youʼll need to know how the ShipCompliant data fields correspond to the labels youʼll see in Manager. For a table of these matches, see ShipCompliant data fields.
To use the ShipCompliant service to validate transactions, youʼll need to take the additional step of obtaining a user name for ShipCompliantʼs web service.
To obtain a ShipCompliant Web Service user name:
Log in to your ShipCompliant account.
On the account manager page, click Quick Links : Account Settings.
On the next page, click Manage Users.
On the Account Users page, click Add User.
