Generating and printing SKU labels

When selling wine and other merchandise, youʼll usually want to assign a unique SKU (“stock-keeping unit”) number to each item. These numbers can be printed as barcodes, either directly on your product labels or on adhesive labels that you affix manually to each item. When you sell items through Λctiv8 POS, these codes let you simplify the checkout process by scanning the barcodes instead of selecting products from a list. You can generate SKU numbers and print barcode labels for selected inventory items.

To remove existing SKU numbers:

  1. In the Inventory list, select the records you want to update.

  2. From the Actions menu, choose Clear SKU Numbers.

To generate new SKU numbers:

  1. In the Inventory list, select the records you want to update.

  2. From the Actions menu, choose Generate SKU Numbers.

  3. In the Inventory SKU Generator dialog, enter a Prefix and Starting Number for the new SKU series.

  4. Click Generate.
