When you create a customer selection, you select an item from inventory to add to the customerʼs selection profile. This selection is then available when creating a sales order for that customer. You can view the details of the selection at any time in the Customer Selection – Data Entry dialog. If necessary, you can change some of the details, such as the quantity, price, or discount rate.
Itʼs important to remember that in the Customer Selection – Data Entry dialog, youʼre working not with the original inventory item record, but a copy. Although itʼs seldom necessary to change anything other than the quantity, changes you make here do not affect the original inventory item.
You can open the Customer Selection – Data Entry dialog in either of two ways:
The dialog contains the full details of a customer selection, on six tabs:
Status: Selection records are created with the status 'Pending.' When you use one to create a sales transaction, Manager attaches a copy of the selection to the new transaction, with the Status 'Processed.' The original selection remains 'Pending'; you can remove it with the Delete Pending Selections option.
Inventory Location is available when you use Managerʼs inventory management.
You can modify the price or discount for the item in an existing sales transaction by opening the dialog from the Transaction record.
