Processing the release: Printing shipping labels

Once youʼve checked for transaction errors, checked the weather forecast, and charged membersʼ credit cards, you can begin printing labels for the boxes that are going to be shipped. Manager assigns a tracking number from the shipper for each label printed.

To print a test label:

  1. In the Transaction list, list all the transactions for the current release.

  2. From the View menu, choose Shipping Date.

  3. Select one transaction.

  4. From the Actions menu, choose Shipment : Create Label.

Note: Manager will print labels only for customers who have a Payment Status of 'Charged' or 'Paid,' a Shipping Status of 'Not Shipped,' and no tracking number.

If the test label prints correctly, you can go ahead and print the rest.

To print the remaining labels:

  1. In the Transaction list, list all the transactions for the current release.

    When shipping multiple club selections, you can avoid confusion by printing the shipping labels for them in separate batches. To create a batch, in the Search Transaction dialog, include the package name as a search criterion (on the Package tab).

  2. From the View menu, choose Shipping Date.

  3. From the Edit menu, choose Select All.

  4. From the Actions menu, choose Shipment : Create Label.

  5. Sort the Transaction list by Description; look for and correct any data errors.

  6. Common errors include zero weight, invalid destination address, or missing phone number. Errors like an invalid ZIP code must be repaired in the customer record so that they arenʼt repeated.

  7. Repair the failed transactions.

  8. Select the corrected items and choose Actions : Shipment : Create Label again.

Voiding a label

In case a shipping label is lost or destroyed, you can void it and create a new one: see Voiding a label and tracking number.

Shipping through a fulfillment house

If youʼre using a fulfillment house to ship your orders, the process is the same, except that instead of printing labels, you'll select the transactions for the release and choose Shipment : Send to Fulfillment from the Actions menu. Manager retrieves the tracking numbers from the fulfillment house overnight.
