Managing web IDs

When a customer signs up on your online account manager, he or she chooses a user name and password to use when logging in. To view these in the Customer list, choose Web User Id from the View menu; the details appear in the Web User and Web Pwd columns. If you open a record in the Customer – Data Entry dialog, youʼll find them in the Username and Password fields (on the General tab). Manager also automatically sends an e-mail to the new web customer, confirming the user name.

Λctiv8 recommends that you let customers create their own web user accounts through the online signup page. When necessary, though, you can also assign web user names from within Manager, for one customer or multiple customers together. In this event, youʼll need to send the “Welcome” e-mail manually.

To assign a web ID to a customer:

  1. In the Customer list, select the customerʼs name and open the record in the Customer – Data Entry dialog.

  2. On the General tab, click Assign Web Identity.

  3. Manager uses the customerʼs e-mail address as the user name. You may change it as needed.

  4. Click Save.

To assign web IDs to multiple customers:

  1. In the Customer list, select the customer(s) to whom you want to assign web IDs.

  2. From the Actions menu, choose Assign Web Identity.

  3. This action cannot be undone.

To send a “Welcome” e-mail:

  1. In the Customer list, select the customer(s) to whom you want to send the e-mail.

  2. From the Actions menu, choose Send to Customer : Email Welcome Letter : Send.

The “Welcome” e-mail confirms the new user name, and provides instructions on how to choose a password.
